About RAISE

WELCOME to the RAISE Website!

We believe that the teaching and learning of science is paramount to the success of our children's future and in turn, predicts the future of America.

RAISE was organized to:

  • Build stronger teachers;
  • Expand student involvement in science;
  • Increase public understanding of science education;
  • Cultivate the informal science providers; and
  • Strengthen the partnership between the formal and informal science communities.

We achieve these goals through joint initiatives among the RAISE member organizations. RAISE members provide student science education, professional development opportunities for K-12 teachers as well as informal educators, and they raise the awareness of the importance of science in everyday life through public outreach.

An Executive Committee of five elected RAISE members serve as the RAISE governing body. It is the Executive Committee's role to guide the direction of RAISE and supervise RAISE staff.

We would enjoy hearing from you if you have additional questions about RAISE or if your organization would like to become part of RAISE. Simply click on CONTACT US.
